UK and India Cultural Coalition Art Exhibition based in the heart of London’s Covent Garden

As part of our continuing development, in July 2014, Plastic Propaganda will be taking over a temporary multi storey venue in Covent Garden where we plan to showcase exhibits for up to 50 artists including newly graduating artists from provincial art schools. This provides an opportunity for young graduate artists who engage in the plastic process and are happy to exhibit in alternative and anti institutional spaces, to showcase their work in Central London.

Their practice is based around critical narrative and development of the “object” within the idea of Post-conceptual practice. Cultural coalition is our working title and we want artists who are happy to tell stories through their work. We see the narrative to be about “experience”- both positive and negative – between the relationship connecting the UK and India, be they social, geographic, political, moral or ethical. Although these themes can be universal and already exist in your work we want the exhibition to have a coherent dialogue. These “experiences” may have grown from visiting India and its subcontinent or being born there.

We will be taking the work of 15 selected artists to New Delhi, India in March 2015 – as a result we would like to hear from Artists who are interested in a dual show. We hope the selection panel will include an internationally acclaimed member of the Young British Artists (YBA).

Charges: A single non returnable entry fee of £30 is payable which will entitle the artist to submit up to 3 exhibits for inclusion in the London show. There will be more information on the costs of the New Delhi show in due course. A commission of 25% will go to Plastic Propaganda on all work sold.

Deadline: Entry forms must be received no later than the closing date of 4 July 2014. Entry forms received after that date may not be considered. Successful applicants will be informed by email.

Exhibition date: 14th to 25th July 2014
