‘For me, making art is an ongoing process of enquiry. I am interested in exploring what it means to be a person and how we are connected to each other. I am drawn to the borderlines between things: how thinking relates to the world of objects; how drawings intersect with physical space; the tension between representation and abstraction. I often refer to theories of psychological development in my investigation of these ideas.
I approach my practice with a spirit of experimentation, testing out and reflecting in a continual cycle. I hope that, through my art working, I can pose questions that other people can relate to – rather than present answers. I am interested in the idea of art as discourse, linking maker and viewer.

My current body of work explores the dialogue between thinking, drawing and ceramic practice. I am interested in vessels, both as containers and as metaphors for people and their emotions. I am also fascinated by the question ‘Does Art Think?’ and the relationship between Subject and Object, both philosophically and artistically.’
